The day to day duties of the role will involve interviewing candidates, assessing housing neds, the provision of advice and assistance including case work support. The department currently has 10 housing Advisors and are a progressive team who provide a good team working and supporting environment. The department`s function is to provide advice and assistance in the private rental sector i.e. checking validity of legal notices etc preventing homelessness and assisting in alternative housing optionsThe ideal candidate would be a dedicated oficer who has the knowlege and skills to assist the homeless or those in housing need. They should have a good knowledge of housing advice law or homelessness, possess excellent customer care skills and should have good communication skills both orally and written.
